Rather than treating AI as a tool, the project positions it as a system with its own internal logic—one that can be observed, interpreted, and, to some extent, inhabited.

Duen Studio approaches AI as a form of cognition shaped by latent aesthetic tendencies. Through prolonged engagement with AI-generated imagery, they identify recurring visual behaviors: continuous deformation, unstable transitions, and a resistance to fixed structure. These observations are not translated as direct imitations, but reconstructed through human decision-making. The process becomes a way of working through an unfamiliar mode of perception using human hands.

Formally, IA STANDARD develops a language that departs from conventional systems of proportion and balance. The objects appear as if they are caught mid-transformation—neither fully stable nor entirely fluid. Their geometries suggest ongoing processes rather than resolved forms, as though they were extracted from a continuous state of change. Bringing these forms into physical space requires a high degree of technical precision. Each curve, junction, and transition must be structurally resolved, even when the overall form appears indifferent to stability. Fabrication becomes a site where control and unpredictability intersect, allowing materially precise objects to retain a sense of visual instability.

Material continuity plays a central role. Smooth, uninterrupted surfaces reduce visible construction, giving the impression that the objects have been transferred directly from a digital environment. Their presence feels less assembled than surfaced—appearing as if they have crossed from one domain into another.

Encountering IA STANDARD, function recedes and is replaced by an

immediate sense of unfamiliarity. The objects resist quick classification. They suggest both computational origin and physical reality without settling into either. This ambiguity invites a reassessment of authorship, prompting the question of where intention is located and how it is expressed.
Through this experience, the perception of creative agency begins to shift. The distinction between human and machine becomes less fixed, allowing both to be read through one another. IA STANDARD does not resolve this condition; it sustains it, holding the viewer within a space where authorship remains open and continuously negotiated.
