ABOUT
Duenstudio was founded in France in 2023. The founder, Kunhong DU, graduated from the École supérieure d’art et design de Saint-Étienne. He decided to establish his art and design studio in Paris — exploring the intersection of design, sculpture, and everyday life.
His work spans both independent and collaborative projects, with a focus on blurring the boundaries between form and function. Embracing the advances of the technological age, he believes that design should be liberated from constraints — where artistic expression can flow freely into daily objects.
Currently, Duenstudio is devoted to exploring the freedom of organic forms in furniture, collectible pieces in close collaboration with traditional artisans, and galleries. By harnessing the malleability of metal, they integrate emotion, spatial thinking, and artistic concepts into functional pieces. Breaking away from traditional industrial images while upholding the values of craftsmanship, they create furniture, installations, and sculptures that speak in multiple languages — reapplying the values of art to the everyday.
Haige WU, graduated from the Central Saint Martins in London. She is a London-and Chinese-based artist specializing in sculpture and painting to depict stories set against the backdrop of personal experience. Her research focuses on feminism, regional culture, and self-identity, combining fieldwork and interviews to gather inspiration and information.​ She joined Duenstudio in 2024, collaborating with kunhong DU as a partner artist to launch the X Series.​​​​
