ABOUT

Duenstudio was founded in France in 2023. The founders, Kunhong DU, graduated from the École supérieure d’art et design de Saint-Étienne, and Haige WU, graduated from the Central Saint Martins in London. They decided to collaborate in the direction they both deeply love — exploring the intersection of design, sculpture, and everyday life.

Their work spans both independent and collaborative projects, with a focus on blurring the boundaries between form and function. Embracing the advances of the technological age, they believe that design should be liberated from constraints — where artistic expression can flow freely into daily objects.

Currently, Duenstudio is devoted to exploring the freedom of organic forms in furniture, merging sculptural language with a sensibility rooted in Eastern aesthetics. By harnessing the malleability of metal, they integrate emotion, spatial thinking, and artistic concepts into functional pieces. Breaking away from traditional industrial images while upholding the values of craftsmanship, they create furniture, installations, and sculptures that speak in multiple languages — reapplying the values of art to the everyday.

Artisans Collection

Leur intérêt commun pour les technologies les plus récentes a toujours guidé leur travail, Par conséquent, ils ont tendance à briser les conventions et à combiner les technologies de l'information avec des méthodes artisanales traditionnelles. Le studio a développé son propre langage, caractérisé par une exagération formelle et une construction précise, créant ainsi une narration visuelle qui, même si elle est complexe, dégage une impression de légèreté. L'apprentissage, la liberté, la curiosité et le défi sont toujours les thèmes dominants de leur création.
