Haige WU, graduated from the Central Saint Martins
in London. She is a London-and Chinese-based artist specializing in sculpture and painting to depict stories
set against the backdrop of personal experience.
Her research focuses on feminism, regional culture,
and self-identity, combining fieldwork and interviews
to gather inspiration and information. She joined Duenstudio in 2024, collaborating with kunhong DU
as a partner artist to launch the X Series.
DUEN STUDIO is a Paris-based collectible design studio founded in 2023 by designer Kunhong DU. The studio creates handcrafted limited-edition sculptural furniture and art objects, exploring the intersection of sculpture, design, and handicrafts.
Working with materials such as cast brass, stainless steel, and natural stone, DUEN STUDIO investigates the relationship between form, structure, and material. Its practice combines contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship, collaborating with skilled artisans to translate artistic concepts into tangible objects.
Approaching furniture as usable sculpture, the studio explores the boundaries between function and artistic expression. Through abstraction, material experimentation, and sculptural forms, its works seek to establish a distinctive presence within a space while retaining their functional purpose.
Each collection develops a different line of inquiry. Collection X explores abstraction and the transformation of geometric forms into sculptural objects, while IA STANDARD examines the relationship between technological possibilities and the creative process.
Produced in limited editions, DUEN STUDIO’s works bring together artistic research, material exploration, and craftsmanship, positioning collectible design as a medium for contemporary artistic expression.
